Barbara Hibbins has been the Director, IT Security Branch, Office of the Chief Information Officer for the Province of British Columbia for over three years. In this role, Ms. Hibbins provides the overall strategic direction and policy for securing government’s information technology infrastructure across all government ministries and programs. Ms. Hibbins has held a variety of headquarters and field positions during more than 20 years in government, including Director, Information Systems; Director, Information and Privacy; and Government Agent, Penticton. Prior to joining the BC Provincial government, she held a number of systems and administrative positions with IBM Canada Ltd. Headquarters, in Toronto. Ms. Hibbins holds a Degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and has completed additional Executive studies at the University of British Columbia.
